Sensitivity Analysis of Catenary Line Design for Multi-Point Mooring System
Abstract :.In order to solve the stability problem of the mooring system for ultra-long flexible structures in ultra-deep water depth, a new mooring system with dynamic cables is designed. Through the design of the total body line of the mooring system, the preliminary design parameters of each component of the mooring system are determined. A complete and detailed numerical model of the mooring system is established using the professional hydraulic software OrcaFlex. Complete time-domain coupled analysis, orthogonal experimental design, univariate control analysis and iterative calculation are performed. The influence of different catenary line designs on the multi-body motion characteristics of mooring system is investigated. Sensitivity studies are carried out to determine the effect of the main design parameters of the dynamic catenary cable (such as the cable length, the load condition and the different catenary line designs) on the multi-body hydrodynamic response of the mooring system. The simulation results show that when the dynamic catenary cable length is 2400m, a set of distributed counterweight blocks is added with anet weight of 1200kg, the forces on the mooring cables meet the design requirements, , the dynamic response of the main cabin and the middle cabin is minimized, and the stability of the system reaches the best condition.
