128343 - Non-Random Vibration Analysis of Ship Shaft System Based on Convex Model Process
In practical engineering, many structures have uncertain excitations that vary over time, leading to time-varying uncertainty in the vibration response of the structure. Random vibration theory, which is based on the random process model, has traditionally been employed to address this problem. Nevertheless, lack of objective information often makes it challenging to obtain sufficient excitation sample information to construct the random process model for uncertain excitation. Limited in its applications in engineering, therefore the creation of a mathematical model that accounts for time-varying, uncertain excitation and the corresponding analysis method for uncertain vibration response when dealing with small samples possesses important theoretical and practical values in solving uncertain vibration problems in engineering.
This paper addresses the issue by presenting a non-probabilistic convex model for measuring dynamic uncertain excitations. A non-random vibration analysis method is introduced for multi-degree-of-freedom systems utilizing this model, to determine the upper and lower bounds of the system's vibration response under dynamic uncertain excitations. Monte Carlo simulation method is employed to verify the results. Finally, this approach is employed to analyse the vibration of single-degree-of-freedom systems and ship shafts, confirming its applicability. The non-stochastic vibration analysis provides a means to forecast structural vibration caused by variable and uncertain excitement. This approach also assists structural reliability analysis and optimal design.
