127345 - Analysis of the Interference Characteristics of Usv Recovery in the Planning Path
The recovery process of the unmanned surface vessel (USV) is influenced by the complex wake around the mother ship, and different components of the wake have different disturbance characteristics. While the USV moves close to the large ship, the unsteady near-field turbulent flow of the ship may affect the navigation attitude of the USV, causing difficulties in recovery and even endangering the safety of the unmanned vehicle.
In this paper, the interference characteristics between the near-field turbulent flow of the large ship and the USV in planned recovery paths are investigated. To begin with, a viscous numerical method coupled with the structured overset grid approach is used to study the fine flow field near the mother ship. The simulation results of the flow field are compared with relevant experimental data to verify the reliability of the method. The composition of the near-field turbulent flow in the wake is analyzed, and the coupling characteristics of different flow components are discussed. Based on the analysis of the near-field wake, several recovery routes through different regions of the wake field are designed. Then, by constraining the course and attitude of the USV, the unmanned vehicle is forced to sail in strict accordance with the above-planned paths. As the recovery of the USV is a typical multibody dynamics problem, a moving multi-domain technique and the three degrees of freedom (3DOF) motion simulation module are proposed to study the motions of the USV in recovery. The relevant dynamic responses, such as resistance and lateral force, of the USV are monitored. The performance of the USV in the near-field of the mother ship is shown. The motion interference mechanism of the USV in the near-field wake is revealed as the USV recovers along different paths. Finally, according to the analysis of the interference characteristics of different recovery routes and regions in the near field wake, the optimal recovery path with the least disturbance is planned. The study can serve as a reference while developing a safe recovery system for USV.
